Roots of qi gong reach more than 3000 years back. The actual meaning of Qi Gong is “energy work”. It means to study or practice of circulating the Qi in the human body. By physical movements (also possible without actual movement) we direct and lead the Qi’s circulation in the correct way. Qi gong practices include many of the ancient Chinese techniques for increasing life energy. Increased life energy manifests itself in a variety of ways, from improved physical health and better immune function, to greater mental clarity and spiritual awakening. Qi gong is valued for its ability to regenerate the body, allowing you to feel and function as a young person when moving into middle age and beyond.
It is a part of Traditional Chinese Medicine, along with acupuncture/acupressure and aurikula, healing with herbs and therapeutic tui-na massage.
At the classes we will be learning the correct posture, relaxation, budhist and daoist breathing, sets of physical exercises along with leading energy through the body and meditation.
