Why certain parts of your body do not open easily in yoga?
Hips. Shoulders. Ankles. Arms.
Yoga is such a joyful experience when your body flows, breathes and moves easily into and out of asana.
But sometimes you can experience unexpected resistance, weakness, stiffness or even pain during your practice. Your shoulder blades stiffen. Your knees become weak. Your hips won’t open. Your arms lose power. Your neck becomes tight.
What is going on? Why do these things happen and more importantly, what can you do to work through these issues?
This workshop examines a range of 30 pains, weaknesses and resistances experienced during yoga practice, explaining the cause to each one and showing the way forward through them.
Weak knees (front and back)
Pain in the sacro-iliac joint
Pain in the back between L5 & S1
Tight mid-back (L2-L1)
Tightness between the shoulder blades
Stiff shoulder blade rotation
Pain at the bottom of the scaplua
Pain and weakness in the upper arm
Swelling or tightness in the neck
Are you experiencing any of these issues during your yoga practice?
Are you curious to know what they are related to and how best to release them?
Then this is is the workshop for you.
This workshop is also great help for yoga teachers who have noticed that their students are experiencing these issues. The information in this workshop will enable you to help and understand your students better.

10:00 – 12:00 Hips & Twists – Nurture your hips and make space for new energy!
In this workshop we will twist and turn with our bodies, detoxing the last bits of the old year and making room for 2015! Discover what challenges you hold in your hips. We will work all around the pelvic region, strengthening our inner hips and breathing into the outer hips. This is a fun workshop great for any level!
14:00 – 16:00 Arm Balances & Inversions – Change your view and challenge gravity!
Gravity surf with us and experience the world upside down! We will work with the psoas muscle; a muscle that connects your upper body to your lower body. The psoas holds a lot of emotions that we can transform into strength! Realise your potential, no matter what level you are working on. Let’s create a heightened sense of awareness and find inner strength! Everyone is welcome to stand on their hands!

Strengthening your spine and your centre to keep you balanced. Busting through your fear of opening up! In this workshop we will alleviate shoulder and neck tightness and work with our midline to access the strength of our backs. Bending backwards takes courage and trust, something we all have deep inside and are ready to unleash!
She grew up in the Swiss Mountains and began her love affair with the human body soon after her first ski lesson and after her first dance act. She was marked for movement as soon as she could walk and took her earliest yoga class at age 5, with her mother. It wasn’t until years later, when she felt lost in the madness of New York City that Chantal made yoga a daily ritual. Now it’s an essential part of her life.
“Moving my body from place to place has made me realise that the only things constant in life are breath and time. My path ahead, and the trails left behind, are here to teach me. I keep moving, following and honoring my intuition on my road. Yoga makes me understand, makes me breathe, and makes me grow.”
Chantal has been regularly practicing various styles of yoga for over 8 years and is a Certified Forrest Yoga Teacher and an E-RYT 500 in Hatha and Vinyasa with Yoga Alliance. She has worked directly with Ana Forrest and is studying Ashtanga Yoga with Tim Miller. Chantal has spent more than two months in India learning about Philosophy, Pranayama and Kriyas and she is currently studying Ayurveda. She lives in the Swiss Mountains with her dog and teaches Yoga in Zurich, around Europe and sometimes in New York.

Potrebujemo čas in razumevanje, sočutje do sebe.
Sama praksa v nas prebuja empatijo in sprejemanje sebe, v tem trenutku tu in zdaj, z vsemi občutji, ki so v nas.
